PTC thermistors are electronic components whose resistance increases significantly with increasing temperature. They exhibit self-healing properties, rapidly switching to a high-resistance state in the event of overcurrent or overheating, automatically disconnecting the circuit. They also automatically reset themselves after the fault is resolved. They are widely used in circuit protection, motor starting, and temperature sensing.
